OSRAM SMART+ wall switch setup
1. Choose the right WiFi network
- Make sure your phone is connected to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network (2G)
- The throughput of the 5 GHz network is lower and loads the operating network.
Settings -> Wi-Fi -> Select network connection
2. Automatic deployment (recommended)
Turn on the power at the wall switch (at the back, under the on/off cover)
- The new wall switch will automatically be in pairing mode when it is turned on. (The switch indicator light will flash slowly)
Do this:
- Open the SMART+ app (create a username if you don't already have one)
- Go to the room or view where you want to add the switch
- Press “+”
- Select “Add device”
- Select “Start automatic search” (The application will search for nearby devices.)
- Select: “Add” (single device) or “Add all” if there are multiple devices
- Select WiFi network (2.4 GHz) and enter password
Once the switch is connected, you will see a notification: “Device added successfully”
3. Manual deployment (if automatic does not work)
If the device is not found automatically, you can add it manually.
1. Put the switch into pairing mode
- Press and hold the main switch button for about 10 seconds
- The indicator light starts flashing slowly.
Note:
- 1-button: single button
- 2-button: left button
- 4-button: top left corner
2. Add the device in the app
- Open the app and press “Add device”
- Select “Add manually”
- Select:
- WiFi
- Wall Switch
- Confirm that the light is flashing slowly
3. Connect to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network
- The app asks to connect the phone to the switch's WiFi network
- Go to your phone's WiFi settings and connect to this network
- Select WiFi network (2.4 GHz) and enter password
When the search is complete, you will receive a notification: “Device added successfully”
4. Using the switch
Once the switch is added:
- Tap its icon in the app
- You can control lights or other connected functions
Press functions
The switch can be assigned different functions for different presses:
- One press – quick press
- Double press – two presses in a row
- Long press – press for more than 2 seconds
These can be used for example:
- lights on/off
- for changing lighting conditions
- automations (“Tap to perform”)
5. Switch reset
If the switch needs to be reactivated:
- Press the main button for about 10 seconds
- The indicator light starts flashing → the device has been reset
- Re-deploy from scratch
